O Sole Mia

I spent the day with my family at Fishcreek today. Oh the memories that will forever haunt me; on the plus side I got to sleep in :)
My father and I decided to go on our walk at Fishcreek, we were both wearing sandals and clothing that was not meant for exercise. I brought along my brother's ipod to listen to. While walking with my intensely cool Polaroid sunglasses and my Indiana Jones hat from Australia I listened to one of my absolute favorite songs, Time To Pretend, by the Über talented band, MGMT. The song finishes and I ask my dad if he wants to listen to Pavarotti, he nods his head and I switch the song to O Sole Mia.

I am lucky to have a dad who has a love for art and truely knows how to appreciate it. If it wasn't for him, I would never have been able to learn and experience the art that the legendary Luciano Pavarotti created.

I blasted the music as loud as the panasonic headphones allowed me too, as soon as Pavarotti began to sing my father burst out into grand theatrics. I joined him, I could care less that there were 2 ladies walking behind us; we were there at the park for ourselves not for them. Whenever I listen to Pavarotti I feel this energy that I've never felt before, he inspires me to be great. I am saddened by his death but he is a legend, and legends live forever.

Today was a very fun day, full of laughs, mosquito bites, bad tans and theatric singing.

If the shoe fits...

I absolutely love shoes, they are the perfect way to finish an outfit. Choosing the right pair can be a challenge but when you find that special pair you'll fall in love. I have decided to dedicate this whole blog post to shoes that I am currently in love with. Well here goes.

Jeffrey Campbell Glen Black Suede Unibody Hidden Wedge

I'm loving this style, it's quirky and cute

Anne Michelle Addiction 62 Black Vegan Leather Button Bootie

I love this style, it's so edgy yet feminine

Anne Michelle Addiction 62 Black Faux Suede Pewter Button Bootie
They are exactly the same as the ones above, except they are Faux Suede, instead of Vegan Leather

Jeffrey Campbell Mary Roks Gray Suede Platform Bootie
I don't see myself rocking this style, but I love it anyways.

Not Rated High Gear Gray Cuffed Gladiator Thong Sandal

I love gladiators, love, love, love them. I am loving the detail around the heel. The double buckle make these shoes exquisite.

Jeffrey Campbell K-Genius Khaki Belt Appeal Canvas Wedge Boot

For the brave and daring. Confidence is key with such demanding shoes.

If you like these styles, you can find even more at Lulus, they have many fashion items to choose from, not just shoes. I decided to keep all the shoes from Lulus because I've been inspired by their blog and I really do love their shoes. In coming up posts I will share more shoes that I love and that I will actually buy. I love you Lulus, but let's be resonable here, I don't live in Manhatten, I go to highschool and I'd like to walk comfortably while carrying my heavy textbook. Thanks.

Bites = Memories

Walking with my father turns out to not be such a bad thing, my only problem is I sleep late and have to wake up early, I need to break that annoying habit. This blog will be short and sweet. I'm picking up my brothers saxophone tomorrow, but first I have to walk with my dad. I am actually enjoying these walks, I am not enjoying the terrible heat or the blood-sucking moquitos. 2 negatives can not ruin the quality time I spend with my dad. I'll scratch my bites and they'll get big and people will ask what happened. I'll say I got them when I walked with my dad :)

Active Summer ?

What comes to your mind when you see the words: Active, healthy, body and exercises.
When I see those words I think of agony. Growing up, I never enjoyed gym class. It was so biased. All the kids who were on sports teams automatically got higher marks than those who weren't. I wasn't on any sports team and I was very un-coordinated. I'm clumsy, and I'm fine with that; the gym teachers didn't like it. Hence why my mark was always in the 70s.

I finished my last year of gym this year, meaning that I will never have to take it again. I was thrilled with the news, my father wasn't. Here's how our conversation went down.

Beginning of conversation:

Me: Dad I'm so happy I finished gym, I'll never have to take it again in my life.
Dad: That's horrible news, gym keeps you fit, we have to do something about this.
Me: What?

End of conversation.

My dad wants to stay healthy, I mean there's nothing wrong with that, so I agreed to get healthier with him, little did I know what he had up his sleeve. We were to wake up every morning and go on a walk, meaning I don't have any time to sleep in. OH THE AGONY.

It's been two days of walking and well I don't feel much different, I see where my dad is coming from, but I didn't want to sacrifice my sleep for this.. boo to that.

My goal this summer is to become more healthier, and I will post how I'm coming along as well as my various upcoming projects. I hope to gain a few more followers. I know I may seem boring, but I really am not, I'll show you.

Have a great summer !

MMVA's

Does anybody really enjoy watching the MMVA's? I feel that the hype leading up to it is not necessary. To open the show the co-host, Miley Cyrus sang Party in the USA. Umm Miley, you're in Canada, what a stupid song choice.

Later on in the award show Miley asks some of the fans if she can get them anything because she wants to be a great co-host, they tell her they want water. So Miley brings out Snookie who is holding a giant water bottle. Here I am thinking, wow Miley is being so nice; then Snookie pours the water all over the fans and they were all covering up. Miley's almost laughing and carries onto her co-hosting job. She's terribly rude.

We all know celebrities read from telepromters and cue cards but when Miley was talking to an NHL player she was so rude, she interrupted him and kept messing it up when she was reading. Well Miley, good for you.

Can we move onto Kesha ? Oops, sorry I forgot her name is Ke$ha. with a $, not an S. She sang, well if you want to call that singing, her number one single Tik Tok. She's the prime example of "singers" who sound good in studio then when they sing live they are horrid. People with no talent seem to be more famous than those who are not.

Drake rapped, he was good, wish we could have heard from him more. He experienced some technical difficulties but he came back great! After him sang the Biebs.

I didn't watch him.

I didn't make it through the MMVA's this year. They weren't as exciting as last years. Gaga made last year's show, this year she wasn't even there. Such a disappointment that they didn't bring talent like her on the show.

Gaga is the most talented artist of our generation, all the haters may hate but that makes her more famous. I will make a blog post dedicated to her, and all my love for her.

I think the MMVA's this year were a big dissapointment, hopefully next year they will get better.

BRING GAGA !

A perfect template

Why did I choose blogspot and not choose to join tumblr?
I'm not one to follow what others do; and it seems as though everybody has a tumblr.
Sure their easy to use, and blah blah blah. I went to all the work making a blogspot thinking of a name and such, so I'm staying here. I don't like how tumblr sounds, it annoys me haha. Plus I'm on the blogspot train and I'm not stopping to get off now.

I have gone through 3 different templates each not my own, I downloaded them from a site which had a large variety of templates to choose from. Some I found spectacular but when I uploaded them to WOWZAPALOOZA... they just didnt fit with the scheme anymore. I searched and searched for the perfect template but none fit the image in my head.

I came to the sad conclusion that I must make the template myself; the problem is that I have no idea how to use HTML coding...

I have dreamweaver and I have been slaving away at it for nearly 1 hour trying to make a template but I have failed...ARGH! I'm just going to have to work harder tomorrow or find somebody to help me. Does anybody out there want to help me with html coding haha I'd really appreciate it.

Anyways, today I cleaned my room; organized EVERYTHING. I'm getting ready for my upcoming room projects that I plan on doing soon. I am still not finished my room but that's cuz' I've been procrastinating...I need to stop and focus on the task at hand. I'm going to finish all my house cleaning in the next week because my familys summer begins in July and even though mine started on the 16th I'm really bored all by myself.

Moral of this blog is that you should focus on one topic and you won't have troubles like I do.

P.S. These posts are boring but you know what? They'll get better when I fix my template! I truely love blogging and I'm sure that one day I'll at least have one follower! :D

The Addiction Begins

Keeping up with the latest fashions is the job of every fashionista, but it seems that something new is in; that being blogging.

I have decided to buy myself a one way ticket to ride on the blogging train; once on, you're never turning back. With many others along for the ride I feel as though I will have an excellent experience blogging. Writing freely for the whole world to see; my public journal...except with more colour and prettier writing.

Creating a blog is easy, but what on Earth am I going to blog about? I'm not going to put a label on this blog because I know that I will blog about random events in the spur of the moment.

Oh how terribly rude of me, I seem to be completely lost blogging that I have forgotten to tell you all about myself; silly me.

My name is Dea and I am very odd. I love that word and it describes me perfectly; there is nothing wrong with being odd; I find it more polite than saying weird. Bleh- weird reminds me of aliens and I assure you all I am a human! Although my brother begs to differ.

That is enough about me to start off this blog, don't you agree? For if I had written a lot then there would be nothing to blog about would there?

I feel this accomplished with my first ever blog post; don't you all? Eh probably not but we all have to start somewhere.

Okay enough ranting, haha.

P.S. My first rant - definitely not my last.
